Passports:

To enter Nigeria, a passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of departure is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
Visas:

Visas for Nigeria are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above, except transit passengers continuing their journey by the same or first connecting aircraft, provided they hold valid onward or return documentation and do not leave the airport - except for nationals of the USA who require a transit visa.

Note: Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy/high commission to check visa requirements for visas for Nigeria.

Entry requirements for Americans: United States citizens must have a passport valid for six months after intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for UK nationals: British citizens must have a passport valid for six months after intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for Canadians: Canadians must have a passport valid for six months after intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for Australians: Australians must have a passport valid for six months after the intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for South Africans: South Africans must have a passport valid for six months after intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for New Zealanders: New Zealand citizens must have a valid passport. A visa is required.

Entry requirements for Irish nationals: Irish citizens must have a passport valid for six months after intended date of departure. A visa is required.

Passport/Visa Note: Nationals of virtually all countries require a visa to enter Nigeria (the few exceptions are mainly neighbouring African states). Visas must be obtained in advance and all visitors require a return ticket, documents for onward travel and sufficient funds. Those entering for business reasons must also have a letter of invitation and verification from Nigerian representatives abroad stating purpose of entry. Passports must be valid for at least six months after arrival.
